As reported in the Daily Herald on Friday, December 5, 1952

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 5, for George Meier, 86, 123 School St., Mount Prospect, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mount Prospect, at 2 p.m. Rev. J. E. A. Mueller will officiate. Interment St. John Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Elk Grove. He is in state at Black’s Memorial Home.

George Meier & Sophia Busse Meier were the first owners of Pine Manor in 1928. But were they cousins? You tell me.

Fredrick Busse

In the summer of 1848, Fredrick & Johanna Busse, immigrants from Hanover, Germany, walked to the end of Milwaukee Avenue with their four sons and two daughters, seeking personal freedom, opportunity, and rich black earth. They found all three in Elk Grove Township.

William Mott Dies – 1987

Mr. Mott of Lincolnshire retired from Peoples Gas in 1971. He had served as auditor of the utility and in other executive capacities including superintendent of the Property Accounting Department.

Axel Lonnquit

The three bedroom 1 – 1/2 bath Dutch Colonial at 401 South Pine Street in Mount Prospect, Illinois was built by Axel Lonnquit in the style of the Sears Honor Built Homes: Van Jean model of 1928.

Lonnquit was the developer who originally laid out the nearby golf course and the neighborhoods surrounding it.
