A Call To Donate. How You Can Help During the COVID-19 Outbreak. Is your wedding on hold? Now it’s time to think of something else…
Many wedding couples are putting their special day on hold until we see how everything with the COVID-19 Pandemic plays out. Until we can all resume regular business hours and operations, planning for your post-COVID-19 wedding is available online at ChicagoWeddingPackages.com
In the meantime, please consider using your time at home to rally your neighbors and create a public call to donate medical supplies. Here’s the idea…
Write one email… place one phone call to a neighborhood business or organization to see if they may have medical equipment and supplies they could donate. Even one box of masks would help. Reverend Pam is encouraging everyone to get involved and plan ahead. Here’s how you can help during the COVID-19 outbreak…
In times of uncertainty, such as we are facing right now as COVID-19 continues to spread and impact lives with unprecedented speed. People are understandably overwhelmed by what is going on and even though the dangers are very real, we must be motivated to help in any way we can. To ban together with your neighbors and plan ahead for the coming months when infections will rise and the need for medical equipment will increase.
We at the little wedding venue, Pine Manor in Mount Prospect, want to remind everyone that there is plenty that we can do to help during this challenging time. There is so much that can be done, even from home, to help those who are on the front lines and serving the people who have been stricken with COVID-19. First responders such as fire departments, police departments, and emergency medical teams are in need of personal protection equipment (PPE) to keep themselves safe while coming into contact with potentially contagious individuals. Nurses and medical staff need equipment.
Examples of what is desperately needed include:
– respirators, battery packs & filters
– masks & gloves
– hand sanitizer & disinfecting wipes
We encourage you to think. Who could you rally who may have one respirator on a shelf in their office? Or a business who has a small supply of these items to consider donating them to their local first responders. Detailed information from the State of Illinois, as well as who to contact and how regarding donating PPE can be found HERE.
DONATE BLOOD A few other ways to help are to donate blood at your local blood donation center, make monetary donations to local FOOD BANKS or charities, and to seek out other countless VOLUNTEER opportunities that may be available in your area. More specific information and suggestions from the State of Illinois on other ways to help can be found here.
