Weddings Held In a Private Home, a Tradition Created by Mr Busse Himself!
Rev Pam is a retired agency producer, and Interfaith wedding officiant, and began marring couples at their wedding locations almost 35 years ago. Rev Pam travels a 5 state area to perform both legal and spiritual marriage ceremonies, Same Sex Commitment ceremonies, and legal Pagan Handfastings.
Rev Pam opened Pine Manor to the public in 2011 marrying couples of all faiths and orientation. Once thought this was an ORIGINAL idea – In researching the history of Mount Prospect, the location of Pine Manor, it was learned that the city’s founder and Cook County Commissioner William Busse had the idea a hundred years before. He built his home on the corner of Busse and Main St where Central Bakery is now in 1894 and married and raised his family here. This was certainly the grandest house in Mount Prospect with beautiful sunken gardens behind the home and was used to entertain distinguished guests who came to town.
The house was so nice that a number of William Busse’s friends asked to get married in his home and the tradition of the parlor wedding began in Mount Prospect. This is a Mount Prospect custom Rev Pam has had the honor to continue at her home, Pine Manor. In the day, Mr Busse had the couple’s pastor come over and perform the oath of marriage and held the ceremony in the Commissioner’s parlor.
The reason for the Pine Manor wedding service being nick-named “PARLOR WEDDINGS”
This is a photograph of that home before it was moved and given to his son. In its place, Mr Busse built what is now know as Central Continental Bakery, Pine Manor’s wedding cake partner.
After Rev Pam retired as a successful Chicago advertising print producer in 2011, Rev Pam opened her private home and garden to couples for their weddings. With the approval of the Mount Prospect township, she is the only private home offering wedding services for small weddings in the state of Illinois today. Her service has been significant to help bring the city of Mt Prospect notoriety as a welcoming community to same sex couples, as well as bringing business to the local community by partnering with wedding vendors to provide the services to create her wedding package offerings. Also, in signing and recording the marriage licenses of hundred of couples, Rev Pam has identified Pine Manor Mt Prospect as an important part of Cook County history forever.
In keeping with her goal to provide a needed service at budget prices, Rev Pam also makes the bridal party flowers, and take many of the wedding photos, plus she plans and manages day-of activities for hundreds of wedding, and spiritual retreats every year.
Rev Pam comes highly recommended with dozens upon dozens of 5 Star reviews which are collected at MyWeddingReview.com and year after year she has won awards for her service and attention to details.
